Agricultural Motels and Their Users: A Profile Overview

Have you ever heard of an "agricultural motel"?

Recently, four organizations established a definition for these emerging initiatives within Quebec's agricultural landscape: "An agricultural motel is an organization (which may take various legal forms) that aims to bring together several tenant farms or different relatively autonomous commercial components of the same social economy enterprise at a single location. It achieves this by providing shared infrastructure and/or production equipment to facilitate the establishment of agricultural and agri-food businesses."

As part of the research project "A Community of Practice Around Agricultural Motels," the Centre for Social Innovation in Agriculture (CISA) hosted a webinar on December 16. This event aimed to present the first comprehensive overview of the agricultural motels currently in operation in Quebec and the individuals who utilize these agricultural platforms.
