Context
Supporting the establishment of the next generation of farmers is a strategic priority for strengthening food security and fostering regional development. Among the initiatives emerging to meet the evolving needs of new farmers are agricultural business incubators. These incubators are generating growing enthusiasm, but they also face major start-up and operational challenges.
To address these issues, incubator leaders and managers began creating a network where they could share experiences, develop common tools and standards, and increase recognition of their work. Since 2019, the Social Innovation Centre for Agriculture (CISA) has supported the co-construction of this network. In 2023, Réseau Racines was officially incorporated as a non-profit organization. While the network prepares to establish its own permanent staff structure, coordination continues to be handled by the CISA team.

Project Objective
This project aims to support the members of Réseau Racines—the network of agricultural business incubators in Québec—as they test the operations of this new network and work toward its long-term sustainability. As part of this initiative, the research team is helping to organize the network’s first events, as well as co-create and share common tools.
