The Interconnected Conditions of Regional Integration in the Implementation of an Innovative Agricultural Business Incubator Model in Bas-Saint-Laurent

Context

Over the past decade, several agricultural business incubators have emerged in Québec. In Bas‑Saint‑Laurent, regional actors opted to create their own incubation model rather than replicate an existing one. Their incubator, “Le Germoir, parcours d’incubation”, is dedicated exclusively to support services and operates across the entire region.

As this innovative agricultural incubator model was being implemented, the need to define coordination responsibilities at the regional level quickly became apparent. Members of the Table de concertation bioalimentaire du Bas‑Saint‑Laurent (TCBBSL), the organization responsible for the project, acknowledged the high level of complexity involved in its implementation.

Project Objectives

The project seeks to accompany stakeholders in establishing this regional agricultural incubator. The aim is to develop a service tailored to the specific needs and creative possibilities of the region while responding to the requirements of its users.
