Context
Following the launch of the RCM of Lac-Saint-Jean-Est’s Signature Project and the adoption of regional plans aimed at defining a food autonomy strategy, the RCM now wishes to create a clear plan to strengthen a regional food system. This initiative is being carried out in advance of the revision of the regional land use and development plan. The project will rely on collaboration from a wide range of actors involved in the agricultural and agri-food sectors of the RCM.
Project Objective
The purpose of this service mandate is to develop a portrait of the RCM’s regional food system and to carry out a diagnostic highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats present in the region. The project also aims to build a shared vision and design a practical, relevant action plan to make the RCM of Lac-Saint-Jean-Est’s regional food system more sustainable.
To achieve this, multiple consultation and collaboration sessions with local stakeholders will be held, ensuring strong community engagement around priorities determined by the region itself.
