Development of an Action Plan for a Territorial Agri-Food System in the Lac-Saint-Jean-Est RCM

Context

Following the identification of the Lac-Saint-Jean-Est RCM's Signature project and regional plans to define a food self-sufficiency strategy, the RCM aims to establish a clear plan to promote a territorialized food system across its jurisdiction. This project serves as a precursor to the revision of the regional land use and development plan. Its success will rely on the collaboration of numerous stakeholders in the agricultural and agri-food sectors within the RCM.

Project Objective

The objective of this initiative is to create a comprehensive overview of the RCM’s territorial food system and to conduct a diagnostic assessment of its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Additionally, the project seeks to develop a collective vision and design a relevant and actionable plan to make the territorial food system of the Lac-Saint-Jean-Est RCM more sustainable.

Through numerous stakeholder consultations, the project will foster engagement and mobilize the community around priorities selected by local actors.
